Launching Kislev With Joy: Highlights From an Uplifting Week at Beis Chana

November 21, 2025

Welcoming Kislev: A Week of Light, Learning, and Connection at Beis Chana

Rosh Chodesh Kislev is here, bringing with it the simcha of this special day and the anticipation of the upcoming yomim tovim of Yud Tes Kislev and Chanukah. The air in Beis Chana is already filled with excitement as we begin this uplifting month of light and Chassidishe inspiration.

This week, our students enjoyed a variety of fun and meaningful extracurricular programs, even as they continued to focus on their learning with dedication and enthusiasm.

Big Sister/Little Sister: A Heartwarming Launch

On Wednesday, the girls launched the Big Sister/Little Sister program, a beloved initiative that builds friendship, connection, and achdus throughout the school. Every student was paired with a “sister,” with whom she will share companionship and support throughout the year.

The program kicked off with a charming activity that had the girls locating their sisters in a playful and creative way. Smiles and laughter filled the room as each girl discovered her match. They then learned a short sicha together and created cute matching bracelets for one another. This student-initiated program was truly delightful and thoroughly enjoyed by all.

An Inspiring Rosh Chodesh Kislev Program

Today, we celebrated Rosh Chodesh Kislev with an inspiring talk from Rabbi Mendy Levertov of Austin, Texas. He spoke about the significance of Rosh Chodesh Kislev for our young students growing up in the generation after Gimmel Tammuz. His message highlighted the Rebbe’s gift to the world and to each of us as Lubavitcher Chassidim, especially as we marked the great miracle of the Rebbe’s refuah and reflected on the tremendous zechus we have to be Chassidim of the Rebbe.

Farbrengens Throughout the Week

Many classes enjoyed their own class farbrengens arranged by their class mashpia. These intimate gatherings included uplifting programming, meaningful conversations, and motivational guest speakers—creating opportunities for growth, reflection, and personal connection.

Guidance for the Future: Seminary Panel

Our seniors participated in the first installment of this year’s Seminary Panel. Representatives from various seminaries joined us to share their experiences and insights, helping guide our girls as they begin the thoughtful and exciting process of planning for the year ahead.
