Chanuka at Beis Chana; A Week of “Light”, שמחה , and אחדות
December 19th, 2025
This week, the warmth and excitement of Chanukah filled Beis Chana, beautifully complementing our continued focus on learning and academic growth. The girls enjoyed a full and meaningful week of activities, both in and out of school, creating memories that truly captured the spirit of the Yom Tov.
Throughout the week, students took part in and helped support several community events. One highlight was Monday’s Menorah Car Parade, where the girls traveled together on a party bus—adding an extra layer of fun and excitement to an already special experience.
On Tuesday morning, we were honored to hear a Zoom presentation from Rabbi Levertov of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Rabbi Levertov shared the inspiring story behind the Chanukah Live events, which he helped spearhead and lead. The girls were fascinated to learn how this initiative marked the first time the רבי saw the כותל המערבי live, as well as the historic participation of thousands of אידן from around the world in a live menorah lighting.
That afternoon brought a heartwarming Chanukah gift exchange. Each student was assigned another girl to surprise with a special gift, creating meaningful connections across grade levels. The celebration continued with donut decorating—complete with every filling and topping imaginable—and a lively “silent disco” that was enjoyed by all.
On Thursday night, the girls attended an exhilarating Chanukah Chagigah at the CTeen Lounge. The evening featured a festive latke bar, delicious hot cocoa, and an adorable mug-decorating activity that added to the warm and joyful atmosphere.
To close out the week, the girls spent time together at the park, enjoying fresh air, friendship, and a spirited game of “Pass the Parcel.”
It was truly a beautiful week filled with light, joy, and אחדות, perfectly capturing the essence of Chanukah at Beis Chana.
